Heatwave (feat. Mac Miller)” (Right click + “Save link as” to DL)

Can someone please tell Chiddy Bang to stop being so awesome? Because I really can’t stand it anymore. This is incredible. Classic Xaphoon Jones 8-bit/electro sound mixed with the epic Motown classic “Heat Wave”. But wait, there’s more! A Mac Miller feature! This is way to cool for school. This is just SO. GOOD. Wow! Congrats on another killer track, Chiddy!

THROWBACKULOSIS: “Walk Like An Egyptian (Bassnectar Remix)” – The Bangles

Walk Like An Egyptian (Bassnectar Remix)” (Right click + “Save link as” to DL)

So this is my guinea pig for throwback posts – I’m going to start taking some of my favorite throwback songs and posting epic remixes of them. This idea all started 4 minutes ago. Just trying to keep it current.. This past week I’ve been heavily infected with 80’s Fever, which is clinically referred to as Throwbackulosis. I spent 3 hours of my Friday night making a MASSIVE 80s playlist (I’m cool, I know…) and changed my ringtone to “Walk Like An Egyptian”. So I’m sitting in class right now, and just for shets & gegs, I decided to YouTube “Walk Like An Egyptian remix”. Not only was I shocked that there was more than one result, but I was beyond pleasantly surprised to see the first result was a dubstep remix by BASSNECTAR! What!? And it’s recent (2011) too! Could that have worked out anymore perfectly?! I’m sitting here drooling with one headphone in, grinning like an ass. People are staring.. Anyway, tell me what you think – should Throwbackulosis be a recurring theme? Can’t hurt, right?

Someone sample Spice Girls and I’ll marry you.

Sicka Than Yo Average” (Right click + “Save link as” to DL)

Not that this is any sort of pun with any relation to the song title AT ALL, but this is definitely sicka than yo’ average. Upcoming rapper, Adair Lion, has an awesome name. He also released an awesome song with an overused Biggie sampling that doesn’t sound overused. Instead, he embraces it in the best way possible and makes an incredibly alternative song. So good. Open your ears to the newest cool rapper with the coolest name around!

Hello: The Remixes – Martin Solveig Feat. Dragonette

Hello (Remix) – IanJ” (Right click + “Save link as” to DL)

About My Business (Hello Remix) Extended Dirty” (Right click + “Save link as” to DL)

Finally, here we go with the remixes! I heard Martin Solveig’s “Hello” awhile ago and was instantly smitten, just as the rest of the world was. Martin Solveig’s promo company emailed me a month ago about the launch of Martin’s “Hello” remix contest. So I have been patiently waiting for these remixes to surface…

Here are two of my favorites that I’ve heard so far. The first is upcoming rap talent, IanJ, who added his own hip-hop flair to the track. This track was just released off his EP, likeianj. The second song is by Rock-it! Scientists, and is just amazing. It has a totally different feel than the original, unlike IanJ’s which is just a nifty addition to the song. DEFINITELY more to come. If you have a “Hello” remix that you think I might drool over, please don’t hesitate to shoot me an email (jillboardtop100@gmail.com) and say HELLO! See what I did there? …

Acoustic Soulmate” (Right click + “Save link as” to DL)

Use Somebody (Freestyle)” (Right click + “Save link as” to DL)

Iron Man” (Right click + “Save link as” to DL)

Introducing: Michael Cameron! A friend of mine introduced me to his music and I’m really, really loving it! He’s got a lineup of great songs that you NEED to download on his Facebook page. My favorites are “Acoustic Soulmate”, “Use Somebody (Freestyle)”, and “Iron Man”, with honorable mention to “Fantasy World” and “Say It Ain’t So (Feat. Clinton Switzer)”. “Acoustic Soulmate” is such a good, spring/summery acoustic jam (HURRY UP SPRING!). “Use Somebody” samples the Kings Of Leon smash hit, and again is just such a GOOD JAM. Michael’s got an amazing flow with some awesome tracks behind it. I’m in love with the movie Iron Man so, that’s the only reason I like that song. Just kidding. But in all seriousness, Iron Man + strings + hip-hop = you must download yourself some Michael Cameron.

“Take Me Home Tonight” – Theo Martins

Take Me Home Tonight” (Right click + “Save link as” to DL)

ZOMGZ!! (Does anyone remember that expression? Lolz). This is so cool! It’s a sampling of “Take Me Home Tonight” by Eddie Money, a CLASSIC. I’m so happy to hear a revival of this song because I love it so much. Theo Martins added a thick ass club beat under this. I don’t think that he makes the Take-Me-Home-Tonightness blend and connect very well with the song, but it’s an all around good song – you get your club beats, your rap-singing, your classic rock…A good dose of everything you would ever need, right?
