I love this one. This new kid rapper in town emailed me his single, “Good Vibration”, which seems to be tearing it up on YouTube. His name is Matt Clarke, and there’s definitely some talent here. He samples Marky Mark & The Funky Bunch’s classic, “Good Vibration”, which gets stuck in your head like no other. It’s a great sampling and is really what makes the song (thanks to DJ Doubletake who produced it). Matt hails from Arlington, MA, just outside Boston. So his name is probably pronounced “Matt Clahhhk”. Clarke or Clahk, this song is hella good.

Umm are you kidding me? Diplo AND Sleigh Bells? Together? Wowowow. This song is incredible. So glad to see Sleigh Bells going places, they really deserve it. A sound that original/innovative that can also get away with being a pop crossover can not be kept a secret. As much as I would love to have Sleigh Bells be my dirty little hipster secret, they need to be heard. This is exactly what you’d expect out of a Diplo/Sleigh Bells remix – heavy guitars with catchy pop vocals and a heavy ass beat. Work.

Get ready for a voice that gives you goose bumps! Missy Modell is a pop singer who’s just breaking on to the scene. Her voice is INCREDIBLE, as are the lyrics to this song. Missy is currently on tour opening a few shows for Kinetics & One Love. Hopefully I’ll be able to catch one of these shows cause I’m definitely feeling this Missy Modell movement. Look for more Missy to be Jillboarded soon.

“Clocks in ATL (Prod. by Apple Juice Kid)” (Right click + “Save link as” to DL)
This is a little late on posting, but I’ve seen this one popping up on various blog sites and it’s got a really cool vibe to it. It’s a cover/sampling of Coldplay’s classic “Clocks”. Same melodic piano euphony with a little Atlanta flavor to it. I’d venture to say it’s one of the coolest samplings I’ve heard in a long time.
Woooow. Music and comedy are my two favorite things in the world, which is why Saturday Night Live is my favorite show. Last night, Nicki Minaj was the musical guest on SNL and was featured in an AWESOME Lonely Island video, “The Creep”. It’s sooo funny because it’s a direct hit to ridiculous dance moves such as the “dougie” and the “cat daddy”. I would love to make a dance video with the next insane dance move, anyone down for it? Maybe like…the “stir”. You just move your arms like you’re stirring a gumbo. I don’t know, I’m still working on it. Hit me up if you’re down…
Anyway, Nicki Minaj is surprisingly HILARIOUS in this video. Such a plus for The Lonely Island. This is the new Shy Ronnie.

Lerv. I lerv. Rusko is undeniably an incredible DJ. He produces masterpiece electronic beats, and this one is no exception. He remixed the classic hip-hop song, “California Love” and puts a cuh-razy beat behind it. Picture this: those catchy, unforgettable words, “California Love”, mixed with dubsteppy beats and bone-rattling bass. Ok, now click play and experience it for real! That was fun, wasn’t it? No? Oh.

As a MASSIVE Britney supporter and a HUGE fan of “Hold It Against Me”, I found it only imperative to post the remixes I have found to be extremely interesting (SO FAR). Don’t Hold It Against Me if I post even more remixes of this song in the future, as I’m almost positive that I will. Britney is probably the only person I would get starstruck by, but I welcome the challenge..
All of these are really great, creative remixes, some uptempo, some chill. Though impressive, I don’t think any of these are as good as the original. Sorry doods.
The first is a remix by MasterKidz, the DJ’s who hold the current “Best Remix Ever” crown on Jillboard (click here for the crown-holder). It’s a nice house/electro remix of ze Queen’s new single.

The second is an AWESOME version by Meghan Tonjes, recent YouTube sensation featured on Ellen. She’s disgustingly talented, it’s intimidating. She mashes up “Hold It Against Me” with Bruno Mars’ “Grenade”, using only her incredible vocals, guitar playing, & tapping into the mic. She’s awesome.
The third is a chill, piano ballad interpretation of the song by YouTube talent, Pianistmiri. Sooo impressive!
Last but not least is a mashup by Kap Slap, called “Touch Your Arms Against Me”. It mashes “Hold It Against Me” with “The Bad Touch” & “I Just Died In Your Arms”. It works so surprisingly well, it’s almost shocking. Love it. Thanks for the suggestion Me-Aygen (you know who you are..)

“Gimmie Dat (RYE RYE Remix)” (Right click + “Save link as” to DL)
I’ve been a Rye Rye fan since she absolutely DESTROYED her set opening for M.I.A. back in September. I love her flow, sound, style, etc. She’s super cool. And, she’s only 17. Cuh-razy. This is not my favorite song that I’ve heard by her, but I love this Ciara song & I love Rye Rye, sooo.. I am beyond pumped for Rye Rye’s debut album dropping early 2011!
I LOVE THIS!!! This is a new Black Eyed Peas song and it’s such a great successor to “The Time (Dirty Bit)”. If you’re not feeling it, wait until the spectacular switch-up around the 2:45 mark. Does the chorus cover some other song? It sounds sooo familiar to me. Maybe that’s because I’ve been listening to it on repeat. I don’t know. Might be a contributor. Anyway, make sure you check out this ridiculoso pop/techno/electronic-ey song. Love it so good.
