Tell Em (Diplo Remix)” (Right click + “Save link as” to DL)

Umm are you kidding me? Diplo AND Sleigh Bells? Together? Wowowow. This song is incredible. So glad to see Sleigh Bells going places, they really deserve it. A sound that original/innovative that can also get away with being a pop crossover can not be kept a secret. As much as I would love to have Sleigh Bells be my dirty little hipster secret, they need to be heard. This is exactly what you’d expect out of a Diplo/Sleigh Bells remix – heavy guitars with catchy pop vocals and a heavy ass beat. Work.

My Christmas Present To You: Sleigh Bells

“Crown On The Ground” – Sleigh Bells

“Run The Heart” – Sleigh Bells

“Rill Rill” – Sleigh Bells

“A/B Machines” – Sleigh Bells

Technically, I can’t say “Introducing: Sleigh Bells” because I’ve previously posted a song by them. This band has nothing to do with Christmas, other than their name being Sleigh Bells, but if you have not heard of them: 1. Shame on you, 2. You’re missing out, and 3. Consider this post my greatest Holiday gift to you.  They are currently one of my favorite bands, with one of the most interesting and unique sounds out there – which makes sense since M.I.A. signed them to her label.  This Brooklyn duo has a heavy guitar rock turned electro sound, resulting in a sweet harmonic euphony.  They make me want to rage, and sometimes make me want rebel/start vandalizing stuff, but in the best way possible. I thoroughly enjoy every song on their album so it was extremely hard for me to pick just a few to post. “Crown On The Ground” and “A/B Machines” are extremely loud, heavy electro-rock bangers.  “Run The Heart” is the song sampled in the mashup I just posted by DJ BAHLER (“The Sugar Dub Fairy”).  “Rill Rill” is the slowest/softest song by Sleigh Bells, and is just a great song. You will like Sleigh Bells if:

1. You like guitars
2. You like rocking out
3. You like electronic and/or alternative music
4. You like the sounds that come from Brooklyn
5. You’re human

Make sure you turn the volume up, these two are LOUD! If it sounds like it’s about to blow through your speakers, it probably is, but it’s just their awesomeness trying to burst through your woofers. This statement reverts back to one of my favorite, ancienet Chinese proverbs, “IF IT’S TOO LOUD, YOU’RE TOO OLD!”

I’ve been trying to find a live show/tour dates from Sleigh Bells, but trying to find info on them beyond their Facebook page/YouTube is like trying to find a polar bear in a blizzard. Sleigh Bells: play in NYC ASAP! My inner-hipster is a screaming fan girl right now!

UPDATE: I just posted this at 1:56 PM. At 1:57 PM I looked up at the TV and heard a Sleigh Bells song on the new Honda CR-Z commercial. WOW. They’re moving…quickly! Hop on the Sleigh people!

This song is odd, heavy, rock-ish, has some weird distortion noises, is different than anything I’ve ever heard, and umm…Awesome. It’s pop, it’s rock, it’s alternative, it’s a bit startling in the beginning, it’s ear noms. Listen up. I expect more good things from Sleigh Bells.
